An animation loop for the main newspaper in spain

I’m a big fan of Gorka Olmo’s work and I’m so grateful I was able to collaborate with him.

Gorka is a regular illustrator for the online edition of El País Semanal, a weekly magazine within El País, Spain’s main newspaper.

For this work, my main task was to animate Gorka’s gorgeous drawing to be shown as a cover image for an article about New Year’s resolutions. Thus, it was published in January 2020.

The animation consisted of moving the escalator in a smooth, realistic way. It was challenging because I had to take someone else’s creation and bring it to life and I had never done it before in such good quality.
